The History
Following the straight Roman route that once connected Pavia (Ticinum) and Lomello (Laumellum), you can continue your journey in the direction of Turin and Gaul. The Itinerarium Burdigalense also mentioned Duriae, which must have been Dorno, situated half way. Actually, it was most likely called “Durnae". The same itinerary specified that it was a mutatio, a place where travellers could change their horses.
