This itinerary is developed in the Pavese territory with a stop in Lomellina. First visit Pavia: From the Middle Ages Pavia is home to one of the oldest Italian universities. The city was conquered in 572 by the Longobards, who chose the capital of their kingdom by the name of Papias. We stop at Certosa di Pavia to admire the beautiful building and continue on our faith journey toward Marcignago and Trivolzio where the Church of Saints Cornelius and Cyprian is kept the urn of St. Richard Pampuri. At Bereguardo there is the beautiful Visconti castle of the fourteenth century to the control of a step of Ticino. From here we go to Zerbolò crossing the Ticino on a traditional floating bridge. Before returning to Pavia, observe the Castles Beccaria and Parasacco. We can make a stop at the farm Venara, unique gathering of storks.
