The History
Traces of human activity from the Neolithic Age and archaeological finds of axes from the Bronze Age discovered in the area of Borgo Nuovo (its ancient name being “Prià”) give evidence of prehistoric humans. Roman tombs and coins were also found in the same area, dating back from 230-270. Pliny the Elder (Plinio il Vecchio) mentioned Redobium, a Roman settlement.
