The History
the name Valley is traced to the Latin "valium" ie fortitude, entrenchment, and it fits very well with the same geographic nomenclature of Lomellina, which was originally, that is very rich in bumps interspersed with swampy areas.
Besides all of the first settlements Lomello of which we know (Lomello, Dornoch, Cozzo, Robbio) dating back to Roman times, do not escape this logic and in them the core constituent was always represented by structures built in an elevated position and able to defense.
