The Municipality of Montesegale includes several small villages scattered across the valley floor and on the two sides of the Ardivestra Valley. It makes part of the Mountain Community of the Oltrepò Pavese. Apart from its magnificent landscapes, the area has important historical monuments, perfectly preserved, and interesting evidence of past rural civilizations. The imposing 12th century castle dominating the Ardivestra Valley houses a Museum of Contemporary Art.
